The Oceanarium

280,000 gallons of sheer wonder.

Believed to be one of the most unique attractions in the world, Pacific Beach Hotel’s fascinating Oceanarium was built in 1979 and is the biggest of its kind located in a single hotel. The three-story, 280,000-gallon, larger-than-life aquarium provides guests with incredible views of nearly 400 fish from more than 70 different species of Indo-Pacific marine life. And, while you’re busy trying to figure out what that yellow one with black stripes is called, you can also indulge in award-winning dining at the Oceanarium Restaurant.

Daily Feeding Times

The hotel's team of divers feed the Oceanarium fish several times a day, to the delight of guests and restaurant patrons. Feeding times may differ for maintenance reasons.

Saturday & Sunday: 
Regular Dive -11:45am, 1:30pm,
5:00pm & 7:00pm
Mermaid dive  - 9:00pm
Monday - Thursday:  
Regular Dive - 5:00pm & 7:00pm
Mermaid dive - 9:00pm
Friday:  
Regular Dive - 12:30pm, 5:00pm & 7:00pm
Mermaid dive - 9:00pm

Special Occasions

Whether you’re thinking about popping the big question, wishing a loved one Happy Birthday, or surprising your significant other on your anniversary, do it Oceanarium style. Arrangements can be made for the divers to carry and place a sign by Oceanarium windows to mark your special occasions and events.
